Havaianas poised for European expansion

Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas is to ramp up its retail presence in Europe, after opening its second European standalone store in Valencia in Spain this month.

Havaianas, which opened its European flagship store in Barcelona last year as a trial, will open further stores across Europe, including London, Rome and Paris by the end of the second quarter of this year, following the success of the Barcelona store.

In January, Drapers reported that Havaianas was poised to enter the UK market following the success of its concession in Selfridges’ shoe galleries but no target had been set for a potential number of stores in this country.

In Paris, the brand is said to be undergoing negotiations to open a store in Le Marais district, where it will attract tourists as well as locals.
