How the judging works

The Drapers Awards process starts with ‘paper judging’, where the Drapers team drafts the shortlists from all the entrants.

They then visit each store on the list and compile a report on each business, which is then added to the company’s entry information. This is then presented to our panel of judges drawn from across the industry.

The judges then score each entry based on how well it answers the entry criteria, how well it is performing, and whether it is tune with current shopping trends. The finalist with the highest number of aggregate points is the winner. Judges can’t vote in categories in which they have a vested interest.

If the scores separating the top two entrants are less than two points, a highly commended is awarded.
