I am coming to the end of fixed contract period with a UK based brand, which I joined after working as the Merchandise Director of a well known American brand.

I have been looking for a new role for a couple of months now and in menswear the role in wholesale just doesn’t seem to be there. How viable is a move to retail on a similar level to what I had before (wholesale merchandising / brand development)?

I think it is always a good idea to review your skill set and the market place when the opportunity arises. I am sure your career background would allow you to move into most aspects of our industry. I would suggest you begin by talking to some of the top recruitment consultants they will give you a good and honest view of the market place and your best pitch into it. Also do talk to people who you know in your network and whose judgement you trust. Good Luck!
