Jacobson Group adds Babycham to portfolio

Footwear supplier Jacobson Group has agreed a licence to design, develop and distribute Babycham branded footwear, accessories and apparel in the UK, Europe and North America.

The brand was acquired from Western Wines Holdings, the company which also owns the Babycham drink, and under Jacobson Group it will focus on footwear aimed at women in their 20s.

A design team has been formed to take charge of the new brand and the search is underway to find someone to head up the new division.

 “We haven’t found anyone yet, but we have had conversations with a couple of people,” said Jacobson Group managing director Harvey Jacobson. “Ideally we are looking for someone who understands the ethos of the brand and will be able to manage the brand from creation through to sales distribution. It will probably be someone from a footwear background.”

Jacobson added: “We felt there was a gap in our portfolio for something like this. It fits a category where we have not been strongly been represented in the past.”

The debut collection will be available for autumn 11 and will retail from £30 to £75.
