Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon named chief creative officer

Tamara Mellon has been appointed founder and chief creative officer of designer footwear label Jimmy Choo.

She was previously founder and president of the label.

Her role will remain focused on overseeing brand image, product design, public relations and advertising.

Jimmy Choo chief executive officer Joshua Schulman said that the decision “acknowledges the important contribution that Tamara makes to our brand image and design process”. He added: “The new title is a better reflection of Tamara’s many responsibilities and accomplishments at Jimmy Choo.”

Sandra Choi will continue as creative director of Jimmy Choo, where she is responsible for product design, and reports to Mellon and Schulman.
