Luxe Grunge

Sheers and velvet layered under stealth-wealth fur linings.

It’s nearly 20 years since Marc Jacobs was sacked from Perry Ellis for his seminal grunge collection, and designers marked the anniversary with reworkings of his iconic look with checked shirts, long flowing bias skirts (as at Theyskens’ Theory) or slip dresses, chunky sweaters and the ubiquitous parka (see Richard Chai). This time round the mood is for a luxe look, so expect to see sheers and velvet layered under stealth-wealth fur linings, as seen at Band of Outsiders.
