Micam attendance rises

International visitors to Italian footwear show Micam rose 2.2% to 21,103 visitors, according to organisers National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers (ANCI).

Micam, which took place at Fiera Milano Rho in Milan between September 19 and 22, attracted 21,226 visitors, up 10.5% on last year’s edition.

Vito Artioli, chairman of ANCI, said: “The mood was really positive and sizeable orders were placed.

“Not only was there an increase in visitors, of course significant in itself; we also saw an even more interesting fact, in the consolidation of the brands represented by the buyers. A double success then which was also signalled by the fact that orders recovered”.

Some 1,600 companies exhibited at the event, including 585 overseas companies.
