What drapers saw…

Raeburn dons a uniform

Visitors to London Fashion Week were greeted by a decidedly fashion-forward Amex-sponsored concierge team. Styled in Christopher Raeburn’s autumn 14 collection, the designs - as modelled by Raeburn and two concierges - were inspired by a photo exhibition, Last Days of the Arctic. Considering the weather on Friday, it couldn’t have been more fitting.

Kids put on a show

London hotel The Dorchester got down with the kids to play host to a charity children’s fashion event. Kids - including in the red trousers Atticus Christie-Miller, son of Drapers owner EMAP’s chief executive Natasha Christie-Miller - strutted down the catwalk, modelling styles from brands including New Look, JoJo Maman Bébé, Ilovegorgeous and Jam. The High Tea and Fashion show raised money for charity Children in Crisis.

We were impressed by the bold approach taken by Iuri, a new Italian socks brand, to promote its range. This is the first time we’ve seen a brown warehouseman’s coat in a glossy photo shoot. There are more odd shots to enjoy at www.iurionline.com

Moda puts a bounce in buyers’ steps

Dr Pixie McKenna

Embarrassing Bodies star Dr Pixie McKenna took to the stage at Moda as part of the launch of Freya Active’s new sports bra, which has been built on the back of a year’s research. Modelled by England netball player Sasha Corbin, the demonstration showed all the places strain can take place, no doubt scaring the many female buyers present into ordering a good few units.

Mulberry is bags of fun

Mulberry toasted its new range of bags in collaboration with model Cara Delevingne over supper at Claridge’s during London Fashion Week. Dinner guests including the British Fashion Council’s Caroline Rush and Mulberry chief executive Bruno Guillon (pictured with Delevingne) enjoyed dinner and music by Marika Hackman.
