What The Marine Trades Association Young Business Person of the Year Award

Philip Marsh, managing director of nautical clothing and footwear brand Chatham Marine, scooped the Young Business Person of the Year trophy at the recent Marine Trades Association dinner and awards for his efforts in growing the brand 42% over the past year. The event, attended by 180 guests, recognises the achievements of both businesses and individuals in the UK leisure and marine industries.

The award Marsh (centre) collected his award from Howard Pridding of the British Marine Federation and Sandra McKenzie from Boating Business magazine.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of York kicked off a tour in support of UK textiles at Bread & Butter Berlin. After an official welcome by B&B president Karl-Heinz Müller and his team, the princesses visited British streetwear brand Superdry as well as Apricot, Gina Stewart Cox, KuSan, Louche London, Urban Knit and Yumi.

US lifestyle brand Original Penguin hosted its first ‘Plugged In’ gig of 2013 with grime star Devlin taking the stage. Kicking off at the end of 2012, Plugged In is a multiplatform music initiative that spans music from the past, present and future.

What Bread & Butter opening gala

Where Metropol Theater, Berlin Streetwear show Bread & Butter marked the opening of its new-format autumn 13 edition with a party at Berlin’s Metropol. Brands and buyers rubbed shoulders with B&B organisers including founder Karl-Heinz Müller at the event, which kicked off the three-day show.
