This week’s social animals.

Boxfresh seeks out a party
Team Boxfresh took its 25th birthday celebrations to Berlin last week, hosting a party with the team from trade show Seek at Berlin’s Humboldthain Club. The event, which is the eighth in a series of 25 being held throughout 2014 to celebrate Boxfresh’s anniversary, included DJ sets, a barbecue and, of course, a screening of a World Cup match. Pictured are Boxfresh German sales manager Andreas Kost and head of sales Cory Burke.

Founder Ross Bailey (right, pictured with Drapers’ James Knowles) was on hand to entertain partygoers, which included movers and shakers from London’s top retail property agencies and landlords.

Royals mill around john smedley’s
The Queen and Prince Philip popped into the John Smedley factory at Lea Mills, Derbyshire, to celebrate the awarding of its royal warrant earlier this year. Managing director Ian Maclean showed the visitors around after his wife Jessica and six-year-old daughter Dorothy had formed a Smedley-clad greeting party. The royal couple - both keen John Smedley fans - departed bearing gifts for themselves plus goodies for their well-dressed great-grandson, Prince George.

Fashot birthday bash is picture perfect
To celebrate 15 years in ecommerce, last week invited guests to enjoy drinks and canapés at Claridge’s in ondon, where the online photography firm’s founder Lee Friend gave an ebullient speech to get the party started. Pictured are Drapers’ Keely Stocker with Vivenne Westwood’s Carlo Fior (centre) and Fashot’s Paul Matthews.

The Academy Awards
Next’s outgoing group product director Christos Angelides struck a pose with Anna Pangbourne of industry charity the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust at the recent Fashion Retail Academy Awards, where college graduates - and future industry stars - received recognition from retailers including Arcadia boss Sir Philip Green.

Marc Cain’s hollywood moment
The Marc Cain spring 15 runway show, held during Berlin Fashion Week, saw the brand’s chief executive Helmut Schlotterer surrounded by a bevy of Hollywood stars. Actress Hilary Swank was in attendance, alongside Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross. It’s a wonder the man in charge was able to keep an eye on the collection!
