This week’s hottest happenings.

Burberry delivers the golden ticket

With London Fashion Week comes a flurry of pretty show invites. Drapers’ winner of best ticket this season goes to Burberry Prorsum with this beautiful pop-up ode to the city.

Preen

On a catwalk far, far away…

There has been some heated debate among the Drapers fashion team over a galaxy of Star Wars references appearing in both Rodarte’s New York collection and at Preen’s show at London Fashion Week. Whether you’re a member of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan, or simply keen to get ahead of the fashion pack, it’s time to brush up on your sci-fi. Three makes a trend, so may the Force be strong at Milan Fashion Week.

Pearly King of the ring

On Drapers we try our best to ensure names are spelt correctly. A web search usually brings up a Twitter, LinkedIn or news story, but not for My Fashion Life’s Emil Veinedotter. Top of his search results is a YouTube video of the Pearly King creative director - on the right below - slugging it out in the boxing ring with a fearsome opponent. Is this the hardest man in fashion?

Visual Merchandising for Fashion

Read All About It

London College of Fashion course directors Sarah Bailey and Jonathan Baker have created a practical handbook titled Visual Merchandising for Fashion. It will be launched at mannequin firm Proportion London’s Clerkenwell showroom on March 6.

A vision of Sir Paul Smith in Paris

Spotted walking the aisles of Première Vision was none other than designer Sir Paul Smith, pictured with Drapers’ James Knowles, Graeme Moran and Lizzy Harris. Just days after his London Fashion Week catwalk, he was busy making the most of the Paris textile show. His message about fairs was essentially “if you don’t go, you won’t know” - Drapers’ view entirely! See more from Sir Paul.

Browns shows London how to party

LFW party

LFW party

Designer retailer Browns hosted its legendary London Fashion Week party last week in association with womenswear label Filles à Papa and US blog The Coveteur. Hundreds of mini bottles of Prosecco popped while the London store’s buying team showed guests including Ellie Goulding and Pixie Lott a few moves on its South Molton Street store’s basement floor rave cave.
