O'Neill outsources footwear licence

Boardsport brand O’Neill has signed a European licensing deal with distributor Bos Group, with the first products to go to market in autumn 13.

The new licence agreement covers men’s, women’s and kids’ closed footwear, including socks and summer sneakers right through to winter snow boots.

Willem Haitink, chief executive of O’Neill, said Bos Group had demonstrated a great understanding and appreciation of the O’Neill brand.

“We’re very confident this strategically-important agreement will pave the way for both companies to fulfill our brand’s potential,” he said.

“Bos Group’s track record speaks for itself, working successfully as it does with a number of high profile global brands such as Converse and Gant Footwear. The group’s unparalleled expertise in footwear and European retail ensures O’Neill’s footwear offering will reap the benefits of Bos Group’s quality and trend-driven approach.”

Roelof de Leeuw, managing director at Bos Group, said: “We look forward to building the business across Europe by leveraging and respecting the brand, focusing on product development, and identifying and exploiting all the right sales channels.”
