Stella McCartney and Morrissey to launch shoe label

Fashion designer Stella McCartney has teamed up with singer Morrissey to launch a leather-free footwear collection.

The designer has never used leather or fur in any of her collections and is known for her rigorous stance on the matter, while Morrissey is also a fervent animal rights activist and vegetarian.

“I’m working with Morrissey on a line of leather-free shoes which I’m really excited about,” McCartney told the Daily Mail. “We are still in the early stages, but the shoes could be launched next year.”

As we want to create a sustainable economy a.s.a.p. I have no problems with clothing and shoes where designers are not using real leather or wool, also I have never worn a pair of shoes without a proper leather sole and uppers made from leather, except that is in sport and leaving my sport shoes on for all day I found its not healthy having artificial materials on my feet, they can’t breath and people in damp climate will find they develop rheumatic aches on there ankles and up to there knees. Only yesterday in Shanghai I saw a pretty young lady of about 40 with that problem at Jin An tube stationhaving troubles reaching the train in time.Anyhow sustainable economy means we don’t forget, that our farmers worldwide are making a livelihood out of producing this products, such as leather and wool and big parts of the economies of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth for example Australia and New Zeeland are depending on this products.Lets hope the new Tory Red ThinTank http://www.respublica.org.uk/ of Mr Philip Blond and Mr David.Cameron are promoting small industry such as family farms as well as of cours butchers. After all, leather and wool are byproducts of the natural ecological economy, that’s real GREEN and concerving therefore concervativ, never mind the Conservatives got a RED ThinkTank now. Red or Dead, I care (sorry Wayne) but Green for Lunch and on my Feet!

I don't think this shoe line is about being green though, both Morrissey and Stella are vegetarians . I know vegans who won't wear wool either. There isn't that much vegan shoe choice for men! Gap in the market or not?
