US footwear brand TigerBear Republik is launching into the UK this autumn.
Footwear veteran Tony Greenfield is handling distribution and is hoping to secure at least 20 stockists for the Californian brand’s first season.
TigerBear Republik offers a range of women’s young fashion trainers designed by former Rocket Dog designer Jannie Denney. It launched in the US in spring 13 and is now looking to expand into the UK and Europe as well as domestically.
Greenfield, who is the former UK managing director of footwear brand Rocket Dog, said he would target leading footwear multiples including Office, Schuh and Soletrader, plus etailer Asos and key indies. Target stockists in the US for autumn 13 include department stores Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s, as well as footwear retailer Journeys, which is owned by Genesco, the same parent company as Schuh.
“At the same time as being a very exciting new concept, TigerBear also uses eco-friendly production methods such as vegetable dyes, water-based glues and, wherever possible, bio-degradable and vegan materials,” said Greenfield.
Wholesale prices range from £15 to £30.
