All good independents know what’s happening on the high street; which trends are being pushed, which colours are scoring big and how the major retailers are targeting and marketing to their customers.
Outstanding independents know what’s happening globally and WGSN’s unique What’s in Store channel helps its users become just that. In this channel, in-store product is analysed by city, region, product category and trend across more than 100 cities worldwide so you can shop the globe from your desktop or laptop and see how your target customer is being sold to by the multiples.
To access our What’s in Store channel, simply click on the icon on our top navigation bar, which will take you to the home page, where our most recent and important reports are featured at the head of the page.
Just beneath our top reports you can browse by product category. Click on the tab you wish to browse through including womenswear, women’s accessories, menswear and men’s accessories and then use the scroll bar to move through the reports to find the one you wish to view.
Once in a product category report, you will see it is formed of many parts. The first page features an overview of the city in question including top trends, colours, shapes, styling and retailers as well as a list of links to the right to take you to the specific product type you wish to view. One report alone can contain thousands of images.
Further down the What’s in Store home page you will find our Product Analysis section where you can view a report by a particular product type or trend. Here you will also find how key trends are being merchandised and styled in store. Product Analysis reports cover menswear, womenswear, kidswear, print, colour and materials.
Our What’s in Store reports go even further than just showing you product on display - our Comp Shopper reports (accessible in the right-hand column of the What’s in Store home page) take key product types and analyse which retailers are selling them and at which price along with key information such as fabrication and style details. We also offer catwalk inspiration to show the trend’s origin.
If you want to browse the world’s stores by the key trends we’re picking up globally, you can do that too. WGSN organises all its What’s in Store images into key seasonal trends and uploads them to its Trend Tracker page (accessible from the head of the What’s in Store home page) so users can see how the trend develops globally.
