Hot dawg! Did Galliano overshadow De la Renta’s autumn 13 show?

So the fruits of the most high-profile internship since Kanye did his werk placement at Louis Vuitton were unveiled last night when Oscar de la Renta showed his autumn 13 collection at New York Fashion Week.

But the problem is that in bringing John Galliano in from the cold, De la Renta did himself no favours as, instead of taking in the collection as a whole, onlookers spent most of the time trying to figure out what bits Galliano did. Both Galliano’s and De la Renta’s people are pretty sketchy about how much or little the Brit was involved but there were definitely hints of Galliano’s hand. The question remains: if you involve a name with your design work more famous than yours, who ends up being the headline act?
