House of Fraser head of men's buying to join rival John Lewis

House of Fraser head of buying for menswear & childrenswear, Matt McCormack, is to leave the department store in September.

McCormack will join rival department store John Lewis in October as head of buying, menswear and sports.

McCormack has been integral in growing the branded menswear and childrenswear business at House of Fraser over the past two years.

McCormack’s departure comes a fortnight after House of Fraser announced that commercial director Colin Porter and director of womenswear, accessories and beauty June Lawlor will leave the business in September. They will join menswear retailer Crombie as joint managing directors.

House of Fraser has drafted in womenswear veteran Stephanie Chen as womenswear director to drive own-label growth plans.

It is unclear whether House of Fraser has found a replacement for McCormack.
