House of Fraser is in consultation with staff over potential jobs cuts as it aims to cut costs at the business.
House of Fraser said that it was in talks with “a small number” of staff across its store portfolio, as part of plans to cut costs and manage the business more efficiently. The jobs at risk are all store staff with no head office jobs being affected.
A statement from the retailer said: “House of Fraser has conducted a review of part of the retail organisation structure in order to maximise sales, reduce costs and achieve profit targets.
“As a result regrettably a small number of staff are at risk of redundancy. The company is now in a formal period of consultation with staff affected by the proposed changes and the business will wherever possible try to identify alternative employment within House of Fraser.”
House of Fraser has 62 stores in the UK.
