IMAGE GALLERY: A good yarn: the story of Harris Tweed

A new book celebrates Harris Tweed, the woollen textile that has been hand-woven by islanders off the west coast of Scotland for generations.

In Harris Tweed: From Land to Street, writer and photographer Lara Platman documents the farmers, mill workers, weavers, tailors and designers who continue to manufacture and use Harris Tweed. Platman follows the supply chain from the Hebrides to Savile Row and a selection of her pictures are presented in our gallery. Harris Tweed: From Land to Street is published by Frances Lincoln, priced at £25.
