This year the Christmas windows of Harvey Nichols’ London store are displaying a kaleidoscope of colour featuring oversized faces artfully crafted from 15,000 gift boxes.
Each window and face has a distinct personality: from a playful girl wearing Minnie Mouse-style bows, to a disco diva with an illuminated LED hairdo, a fuzzy-faced hipster and a prince of ice whose hair has been frozen into icicles.
Enlarged sequins adorn the Knightsbridge store’s façade, each one applied by hand.
Janet Wardley, head of visual display at the retailer, said: “This year we looked to the catwalk for inspiration, drawing on a key trend for the season, Studio 54. We wanted to capture the playfulness of the party season, while maintaining an instantly recognisable Christmas spirit. The 3D faces, made up of gift boxes, is a theme that runs through the brand this season, as you may see with our Christmas viral released on November 10.”
