Is Spring here?

Good job I didn’t, as it was still pretty damn chilly out there, but I think this is a good indication that us men need to start the grooming and wardrobe ‘sifting’ regime.

It’s also the signal to get some colour. I don’t mean jump on to the nearest tanning bed but to inject some colour into your wardrobe.

A mac is the perfect transitional coat to take out with you in Spring, shove it over a knit and you’ll be warm on the way to that business meeting (or the pub, to hell with it,  why not host the meeting in the pub?).

So, to kick start that colour attack, start with some shoes, I’ve just bought Paul Smith’s navy blue brogues from the SS11 collection. They are fantastic.. I love a brogue and I love a quirky variation on a brogue, so to kill two birds with one stone is perfect for me.

McQueen has done some fantastic bright, but not too bright summer scarves with their iconic skull print on them, fantastic for a bit of colour and to add that ‘dapper’ vibe to your look too.

When the weather really has kicked in, you can’t beat the blazer. I like to wear a blazer over a bright coloured t-shirt to dress it down a little bit. I really don’t like the public school boy look, so I’ll rarely wear it with a shirt, but hey, it’s whatever you feel comfortable in.. Until it warms up, there are some great heavier tweed blazers around.

Here’s to the Spring.
