Jacques Vert woos John Lewis director for new role

Jacques Vert has tapped John Lewis’s merchandise operations director Sarah Morris for a new role spanning the recently-combined businesses.

Morris, who has been with John Lewis since December 2008, will join Jacques Vert as group trading director on October 8.Prior to joining John Lewis, Morris also held senior roles at Tesco and Marks and Spencer.

She will oversee trading for all of Jacques Vert’s fascias including Jacques Vert, Precis, Planet and Windsmoor, as well as those that previously came under the Irisa Group, including Alexon, Minuet, Ann Harvey, Dash, Kaliko and Eastex.

“She joins at a joins at a really exciting time for the company, bringing with her an impressive and extensive track record in retail which will make a significant contribution to the business,” said Paul Allen, chief executive of Jacques Vert.

“There are some exciting opportunities ahead in this positive new phase for the business,” added Morris.

In August this year it was revealed that Jane McNally, deputy chief executive of Jacques Vert, was to step down from the business while in September it emerged that the former Irisa Group HQ in Luton was to shut following a merger of the two businesses.
