Contemporary womenswear indie Jane Davidson is celebrating 40 years of trading after growing from a small boutique in Edinburgh’s Old Town in 1969 to an imposing four-storey Georgian town house on Thistle Street.
The business, which sells brands including Missoni, Jenny Packham and Armani Collezioni, was founded by Jane Davidson.
Davidson’s daughter, Sarah Murray, now runs the store and has driven the retailer’s online presence over the past year by developing a transactional website and targeting shoppers in the Far East with www.janedavidson.co.uk.
Murray has also launched a same-day online delivery initiative for local shoppers in Edinburgh.
The retailer is planning to host a party for customers to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
Separately, womenswear boutique Blush in Haslemere, Surrey, is celebrating its third anniversary.
The retailer sells brands including Betty Jackson and InWear, and owner Lindsey Lunn said: “I have built up a loyal customer base in Haslemere and the surrounding villages. I am finding that people are deserting the high street in favour of towns like Haslemere.”
