Jimmy Choo to collaborate with H&M

Luxury footwear and accessories Jimmy Choo brand will create a range for H&M this autumn - the Swedish fashion chain’s first designer accessories collaboration.

The Jimmy Choo for H&M collection will hit around 200 stores on November 14.

“It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.”

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M

It will include Jimmy Choo’s first clothing collection as well as a range of footwear and accessories. It will also include men’s bags, footwear and accessories.

Tamara Mellon, founder and president of Jimmy Choo said: ” We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out at night.”

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor for H&M added: “We adore Jimmy Choo’s shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorise the shoes and bags rather than the other way round. This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.”

Jimmy Choo launched in 1996 and has since become one of the most famous luxury footwear brands in the world.

  • I am sure I will cause a stir with my comments, though I am very disappointed that Jimmy Choo ar collaborating with H & M. I am a big 'Choo' fan (browse the website daily and am upto date with all Choo News). I am however not very flush with money, therefore I make a point of saving for Jimmy Choos and now have a few pairs. I just feel that with collaborating with H & M, Jimmy Choo are going slightly down market and there will be nothing special about them...just another high street retailer...

Like I say, I am sure I will be causing a stir with my comments, though this is my opinion and simply how I feel.

  • Mr. Anonymous- i completely agree. Its the annoyingly perpetual money factor and the fact that designers need quick cash if their high end goods aren't pulling it off, so I guess it's an expected move for the designer to pull- but this is strange, because I don't see Jimmy Choo as THAT pricey compared to Roberto cavalli and previous H&M collaborators. but then again, it's shoes.
