JJB Sports suspends Chris Ronnie

JJB Sports has suspended its chief executive Chris Ronnie.

JJB Sports said that it had suspended Ronnie from his duties pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation being conducted by its legal advisers.

Last week JJB Sports said that it had discovered Ronnie’s shareholding in the sportswear retailer had been transferred to the administrator of Icelandic bank Kaupthing at some point in 2008 and that it had launched an investigation into the matter.

Ronnie told JJB Sports he was not aware of the date or place of the transaction or the price per share in respect of the transaction.
