JJB Sports has suspended its operations director Phil Swaine, less than a month after chief executive Chris Ronnie was also suspended.
JJB Sports declined to comment on Swaine’s suspension. He was not on the main board at the sportswear retailer. Swaine had been overseeing the roll out of the chain’s “New Era” shopfits.
JJB Sports suspended Chris Ronnie last month after it emerged that the board had not been notified about the transfer of his 27% stake in the company to Icelandic bank Kaupthing, which is under the control of administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.
JJB Sports put its lifestyle chains Original Shoe Company and Qube into administration last week. The company is also trying to sell its health club operation.
