Joanna Lumley to star in Marks & Spencer Christmas campaign

Marks & Spencer is understood to have signed Absolutely Fabulous star Joanna Lumley to star in its Christmas advertising campaign.

Lumley is believed to be the latest signing, along with journalist John Sergeant and actor Stephen Fry, to star alongside current face Twiggy in the retailer’s key Christmas advertising campaign.

The three will be paid around £100,000 each for the £5m campaign, according to the Daily Mail.

M&S is well known for its high profile advertising campaigns in the lead up to the festive period, which always attract big names.

Pop group Take That starred in last year’s campaign, together with Lily Cole, Myleene Klass, Erin O’Connor and Twiggy. The year before Spanish actor Antonio Banderas featured in the adverts.

M&S would not comment on plans for the campaign.
