John Varvatos

The collection

A sombre midnight palette was delivered with a touch of menace by a parade of pale-faced models in John Varvatos’s confident Milanese debut. Silhouettes were slim but meticulously delivered with buttoned collars and trilbies before a more dishabille aesthetic took hold with scarves worn languorously over long line knits, unbuttoned shirts and oversized coat-igans while skinny striped jerseys were worn under waistcoats for a rock chic appeal.

Key items

Soft handle cable knits added a luxe touch while suiting was more functional – silver grey db suits were produced in boxy silhouettes but sb versions came in a more youthful silhouette and with taping. Padded jackets looked warm enough to defy a Russian gas blockade while a tapered lightweight mac belts low for a slinky take on the classic style and the abbreviated pea coat appeared once more here.
