Karen Millen appoints CFO

Premium womenswear retailer Karen Millen has hired former BDO senior corporate finance partner Andrew Ware as its new chief financial officer.

Ware has worked with both Karen Millen and its former parent company Aurora Fashions previously, in an advisory capacity, while at accountancy firm BDO.

Karen Millen’s chief executive Mike Shearwood told Retail Week “his experience in the broader financial sector will prove very beneficial to the brand on a global scale.”

In March Aurora Fashions, the parent company of Oasis, Coast, Warehouse and formerly Karen Millen, said that it was to spin off occasionwear retailer Coast in the same way it did with Karen Millen in 2011.

Its other two fascias, Warehouse and Oasis will be managed by one standalone company, called Fresh Channel.

Shearwood is thought to be planning a management buyout (MBO) of the womenswear retailer.
