The Kensington Shoe Event returned to its original locale this year, checking into Kensington Close Hotel.
This made for a slightly better laid-out show, with everything on one level. Although some exhibitors said footfall seemed down compared with last year, most were pleased with the quality of buyers.
Spanish brand Pons Quintana is renowned for its woven footwear, which forms a key part of its spring offer. For autumn, the brand has introduced the same woven detail onto shoe and boot styles for the first time. Monochrome anchors the collection, featuring across both shoe and boot styles.
Multicoloured flatform brogues and metallic flatforms are standout styles. Wholesale prices range from €75 to €149 (£64 to £128).

Women’s footwear brand T&F Slack has been launched for autumn 13 by designers Tim and Fiona Slack, who were behind Walkers Shoes in the 1970s. Manufactured in Spain, the range includes a selection of sports luxe styles, as well as dressier heeled boots and court shoes. Wholesale prices range from €58 to €96 (£50 to £82).

German men’s footwear brand Bugatti soft-launched in the UK for spring 13, but is officially launching here for autumn 13. In its homeland the brand is known for smart men’s work shoes but this season the focus is more on its range of casual shoe and boot styles, which include shearling-lined hiking-inspired boots. This was the first time Spanish brand Pikolinos had exhibited at the Kensington Shoe Event, as it looks to raise its profile in the UK.
A lot of new categories have been introduced for this season, including the Andorra boot, a women’s knee-length boot with a low heel. In the men’s collection, standout pieces include a brogue-style shoe with an ultra-light EVA outsole. Wholesale prices range from £27 to £58.
