An African theme emerged in Paris this week and Antonio Marras’s show for Kenzo took its influences from the jungle to the desert. Tonal greys were used on layered tailoring with db jackets and waistcoats, belted outerwear and cable knits worn over calf length shorts. Beanie-style sun hats united the look as, later in the show, higher fastening 2sb jackets were pulled tight. Oversized T-shirts dangled long, while stonewashed jackets ushered denim in to the show.
Utilitarian outerwear with button-on storm cape shoulders, cargo shorts and lightweight suits had a functional edge while knits were slouchy – veering from cable knits to fine cardigans.
