Kyle Salt

Kyle Salt owner of young fashion indie Freedom Clothing in Portadown, Northern Ireland.

Brands include Diesel, Energie, G-Star, Killah, Miss Sixty, Replay

How is trade at the moment?
We had strong summer trading, but things have been quieter the past few weeks. Jeans and light knitwear are selling best at the moment.

Which brands are selling best?
In menswear, G-Star and Diesel, and for women Fornarina and Miss Sixty are particularly strong.

Will you be putting prices up for spring 10?
I don’t think that would be a smart thing to do. Margin is tight but you can’t forget the customer will always have options.

What are the biggest trends in young fashion right now?
In womenswear, brightly coloured knitwear and oversized tops are doing really well. I suppose the best way to describe the current look girls are going for would be rock chic.

Are you doing anything specific to drive trade?
We always keep in touch with our customers via e-flyers and SMS marketing. Other than that, we are just concentrating on providing a great customer experience both in-store and on our transactional website.
