Alber Elbaz’s offering was a masterclass in the art of draping. Soft, undulating fabrics were given shape by clever twists, hidden darts and secret seams.
An emerald silk skirt with a giant side ruffle was shown with a twisted chiffon top which looked as if it had simply been tucked inside itself. The season’s exaggerate curved shoulder was also in evidence on a black satin dress, while tuxedo styling came through on a loose, wide-lapel evening suit.
Black, putty, oyster and sky blue were the perfect foil to emerald, fuchsia and cobalt as well as mustard and tangerine.
Silky and shiny was order of the day, with silk, high shine taffeta and satin details as key.
