Karl Lagerfeld is the latest designer name to collaborate with Brazilian plastic footwear brand Melissa.
The collection, which will be available in stores from March, will comprise four new shoe styles.
Lagerfeld has committed to the project for four seasons.
The brand, which has more than 250 wholesale stockists in the UK as well as a pop-up retail store on London’s South Molton Street, is famed for its designer collaborations and has, in the past, linked up with designers including Vivienne Westwood and Jason Wu.
Paulo Pedó, chief executive of Melissa, said: “The partnership extends our customer base and makes his name accessible for everyone.”
Lagerfeld chief executive Pier Paolo Righi added: “Melissa has been great in translating Karl’s inspirations and designs into truly iconic, fun fashion products that many women in the world will happily wear.”
