Lipsy to open 40 overseas stores

Next-owned young fashion brand and retailer Lipsy is set to expand into Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia after signing an agreement with Saudi property and retail company Alhokair Group.

Alhokair aims to open 40 Lipsy stores over the next five years and already operates franchises for retailers including GAP, Zara, Monsoon and Miss Selfridge.

Jeremy Stakol, chief executive officer of Lipsy, said “This is a great opportunity for continued growth and underscores the international appeal of our brand. We are delighted to be working with the team at Alhokair and we look forward to introducing Lipsy to their customers.”

He added that the brand is also considering other franchise opportunities in other countries and territories.

Simon Marshall, chief executive officer of fashion retail at Alhokair, said “We have ambitious growth plans to develop Lipsy within the region and believe their unique handwriting, glamorous fashion outlook and continuous celebrity endorsement will be a success within our markets”.
