London Collections: Men – Day Two Trends

Associate fashion editor Graeme Moran picks three of the biggest trends from the second day at LCM.

Black: The pervading palette of LCM, particularly on day two was a dark and subdued range, with a focus on all black looks as everyone from Alexander McQueen and James Long focused on darker shades – an easy and commercial option from many.

Checks and plaids: Traditional checks and plaid patterns cropped up in abdundance on day two, appearing on everything from mismatched suiting to smart outerwear and more edgy designs. While the likes of Casely Hayford took punk as his reference, most others updated smarter pieces with a touch of patterned interest.

Bombers: While day one’s oversized outerwear trend continued into day two, the commercial favourite the bomber jacket cropped up again. Whether printed, patterned and collaged, contrast sleeved or plain and simple, the shape remains a favourite.

See the January 18 edition of the magazine for a full trend round up.
