London Fashion Week: Richard Nicoll

Chic, urban athletes sped down the catwalk, picking up the baton from where the pre-summer and debut menswear collections left off.

This was a sleek and streamlined commercial collection in sporty combinations of nylon, leather and jersey panelled with mesh and trimmed with reflective ribbon in white, grey and punchy blues and neons. Blousons and hooded anoraks were layered over T-shirt dresses and skirts finished with zippered mesh panels, or sweatshirts and roomy shorts alongside evening looks trailing with windbreaker-like trains.

In short This wasn’t a sports-by-numbers ode to London’s Olympic year but Nicoll honing his talent for luxed-up athletic looks as special as they are wearable.
