London-based streetwear tradeshow Margin is to skip a season and will not hold a spring 13 edition this summer.
The dates for the spring edition of the tradeshow, which normally takes place in late July, had not been confirmed because of the Olympics. Now the organisers of Margin have confirmed via the tradeshow’s website that the show will not take place at all this summer.
“With the London 2012 Olympics taking place on the traditional tradeshow dates in August, we’ve decided to skip a season,” said the statement on Margin’s website.
“We know from talking to stores that not all the relevant buyers will be in London for one particular date and many international buyers have planned to visit different London events on different dates for different men’s or women’s events.
“This means there isn’t a prime calendar slot to give new and emerging designers the best opportunity to meet with as many of these stores as possible this season.”
Brands that have exhibited at Margin in previous seasons include young fashion brand Supremebeing, accessories brand Eastpak and T-shirt brand New Love Club.
The next edition of Margin will be the autumn 13 show which is scheduled to take place on February 10-11 at The Music Rooms on London’s South Molton Street.
