Young fashion buyers looking for fresh labels to liven up their store were not disappointed at the London show

Being Equal

With two UK stockists, Being Equal is looking to expand its reach by targeting London independents with its spring 12 collection.

The menswear brand’s third season channels a classic look with chino shorts in teal, mustard and tobacco shades, round-neck T-shirts and shirts. Graphic-print T-shirts and boardshorts in vivid prints also stand out.

Emma Louise London

The inspiration for Emma Louise London’s collection suitably comes from the capital city. Key pieces include a mint green shift dress with an orange London skyline on the hem, and a tomato red satin sleeveless top bearing the Oliver Twist quote ‘Please sir, I want some more’. All of the womenswear brand’s collection is manufactured in the UK.

Menswear brand Humdrum offers sweatshirts and T-shirts featuring nostalgic graphics inspired by 1950s American artwork. Garments come in a variety of colours, from grey to navy and maroon. Offering both short order and forward order, Humdrum is mulling the launch of a more premium line of slimmer silhouettes so it can offer tiers of pricing.

Isy & Peeps

Launched just nine months ago, womenswear brand Isy & Peeps offers exclusive prints on ladylike silhouettes. Its spring 12 collection includes a chiffon bird-print dress and a blouse with prints of musical notes. It also does short order – the autumn 11 range features items including a stamp-print tea dress and a mustard-coloured leather skirt.

The nautical trend is key at Obey for spring 12, with anchor prints used on men’s and women’s T-shirts and vests, which make up the bulk of the offer. A collaboration with New York artist Curtis Kulig includes chambray shirts and white cotton vests featuring Kulig’s signature ‘Love Me’ slogan. Swimwear is new for the season.

Out of Print

Making its UK trade show debut at Margin, Out of Print serves up a range of printed men’s and women’s T-shirts featuring iconic book titles including Lolita, The Great Gatsby, Moby Dick, Pride and Prejudice and 1984. For each T-shirt sold, the brand will donate a book to a child in Africa through charity Books For Africa. Kids’ T-shirts are also available.
