An eclectic, layered look of folk fused with vintage glamour, the Megan Park collection featured hand-printed silk dresses with animal print influences and embellished necklines. Black, high waisted culottes, elegant cropped capes and heavily sequined evening coats in black and mushroom pink added old school charm.

Elegant, short and strapless cocktail dresses in shades of black, cream and pale blue were decorated with hip accentuating ruffles and origami inspired rosettes. Short skirts and floor length evening gowns featured fine layered strips of chiffon pleating, as smart tailored boyfriend jackets and wrapover trenches added a masculine touch.

The countryside came to the city at Arabella Ramsey, where red checked wool was updated on short shift dresses and shirts, and a sombre tartan wool vest with angled lapels was worn over a plaid shirt. Softness came via a white and orange silk screen print dress and black leather, full circle skirts.

Thurley’s chiccollection featured elegant short dresses in silk and lace, long gowns with vintage lace neck detailing and sophisticated cape shapes for outerwear. Sequined touches, embroidered waist belts, ruffle detailing and mesh fabric added texture, while the arresting palette of black, white and mustard was highlighted with fuchsia.

Body conscious panelled dresses with exaggerated hips made the biggest statement for Dhini this season, while vivid blue, silk chiffon dresses and skirts with a black screen prints added movement to the catwalk. Sheer shirts with high neck button detailing suggested a prim undercurrent.

A mix of vintage military inspiration, Russian detailing and ethnic embellishment combined on khaki and peach trouser suits, camel draped dresses with twisted sleeves and ethnic detailing on the bodice, and a military style button down dress which flared into a short, flippy skirt.

Nature provided the stimulation for Alice McCall’s insect-inspired collection, which featured bug-like graphic outlines on boldly coloured mini-dresses. This was blended with a touch of rock chick glamour courtesy of metal chain detailing, as softly tailored jackets, skirts and shorts offered more wearable options.
