Womenswear retailer Mint Velvet is embarking on an aggressive retail push to more than triple its UK standalone stores over the next three years.
Mint Velvet, which has 83 concessions and nine standalone stores, wants to up this to between 20 to 30 stores by 2015.
Operations director Stuart Grant said the retailer, which opened its most recent standalone store in Guildford last week, will open a further two in Harrogate and Farnham in Surrey this spring.
The retailer is also looking to open other stores by the end of the year, although Grant would not be drawn on locations.
“We wouldn’t rule out opening more concessions, but our main focus is on standalone stores,” said Grant.
The retailer, which was founded in 2009 by Clarks chairman Peter Davies and the team behind the now-defunct womenswear chain Principles, is also considering launching an international delivery service through its UK website by the end of this year. This follows on from the launch of click-and-collect last week.
