Moda in Pelle enjoys record Moda show

Women’s fashion footwear brand Moda in Pelle has reported an unprecedented level of success at the recent Moda tradeshow.

The brand’s owner Stephen Buck told Drapers that orders written at Moda were up 300% compared to the previous year, with the brand having opened 20 new accounts at the show and existing stockists buying wider, selecting more styles than ever before for their stores.

“We have a new buyer and designer on board who have worked on the spring 13 collection and people are responding really well to the new collection,” said Buck.

Buck added that pumps and glamorous evening styles had been the best sellers at Moda and he hopes to replicate the same success at tradeshow Pure, which begins on Sunday.

“We would like to add another 20 - 30 accounts at Pure,” he said.

Most of the accounts Moda in Pelle opened at Moda were independent stockists but Buck said there was also interest from multiples and department stores but did not disclose any names.

The brand has 150 stockists in the UK and there are around 100 styles in the spring 13 collection.

Wholesale prices range from £20 - £40.

  • Is this the same Moda in Pelle that went into Administartion in 2006 and 2008, failing to pay its creditors including the VAT man and the Inland Revenue (that's you and me!!) Either a change in the law is called for or we should treat these "phoneix" companies and their management as pariahs
