New York Fashion Week kickstarts spring 12 catwalks

New York Fashion Week kicked off yesterday signalling the start to the spring 12 catwalk season and a month of fashion fever across the world.

The week will run from September 8 to 15 with DKNY Mens and Organic by St Patrick kicking off proceedings yesterday.

Today will see spring 12 collections from Richard Chai, BCBG and Tadashi and Friday’s catwalk will showcase collections from Luca Luca and Nicole Miller. Over the weekend there will be shows from Lacoste, Helmut Lang, Victoria Beckham, Derek Lam, DKNY, Diane Von Furstenberg and Tommy Hilfiger.

Jenny Packham, Thom Browne,  Marc by Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Donna Karan will take the stage on Monday. On Tuesday there will be shows from Rodarte, Herve Leger and Vera Wang. Taking centre stage on Wednesday will be Michael Kors, Philip Lim and Proenza Schouler.

Finishing off the week on Thursday there will be catwalk shows from Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein.

Fashion weeks in London, Paris and Milan will follow on from New York over the coming month.
