Former Moss Bros chief executive Rowland Gee has joined the board of online fashion wholesale platform Brand Lab as an advisor.
Gee ran Moss Bros from 1989 to 2002, building its store network to 17 across the UK by the time he left. Brand Lab said he was “responsible for introducing Hugo Boss to the British high street”.
Gee is chairman and chief executive at retail mentoring service Grey4Gold and is a business consultant for Indian home-textile manufacturing and export business Textrade International.
Brand Lab chief executive Jennifer Drury (pictured, with Gee) said: “His experience and knowledge of the fashion and retail sectors is second to none and his advice will be invaluable to us as Brand Lab enters a period of substantial growth.”
The news comes after Brand Lab, which is based in Newport, South Wales, began a recruitment drive in sales and creative content in June. It outlined plans to grow its team to 25 employees.
Last month it hired former head of UK sales at Burberry, Amanda Osborne, to lead its international business development team.
