Tesco eyes further Arcadia concessions

Tesco may expand the number of Arcadia concessions hosted in its branches, in an effort to profitably fill spare space in large stores.

Currently, there are 14 Arcadia concessions in Tesco stores, from Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Evans. Four more stores are set to open Arcadia concessions before the end of the year.

Tesco made the announcement to investors attending a presentation at its headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, The Guardian reports. The move comes as part of a plan to open 26 more concessions in store this year – 35 more are hoped to open each year after. These concessions would include Arcadia stores, as well as concessions from health food chain Holland & Barrett.

Last month, Tesco announced plans to open Miss Selfridge, Wallis, Dorothy Perkins and Evans concessions in the Tesco store in Long Eaton, Nottingham. The first five Arcadia concessions opened last year in Horwich near Bolton, Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff, Chesterfield, Woolwich and Bradley Stoke.
