Fashion and lifestyle etailer Zalando will launch into Ireland and the Czech Republic this summer.
Ireland and the Czech Republic are the first two countries Zalando has entered since 2013.
Zalando said the new markets would be served by its existing logistic sites, adjacent to the countries, expanding its local reach to an additional 15.4 million citizens. Zalando will be present in 17 countries as a result.
The etailer is also expanding its offer in Germany and Switzerland by offering additional language versions of its websites. From the summer customers in Germany will have access to an English language version of the German shop, and customers in Switzerland will benefit from an Italian language version of the Swiss shop.
Zalando’s co-CEO Rubin Ritter said: “We are excited to bring Zalando to new customers. We are tacking our expansion smartly and leveraging knowledge from our existing European markets. We’re operating in usual Zalando style: launch, learn, iterate and scale.”
It also announced the launch of H&M’s Monki brand online, which it said will be available to customers from August.
