British footwear distributor 33 Joints has struck a deal with Ben Sherman owner Marquee Brands and Parisian brand Christian Lacroix to make and distribute their footwear collections across Europe.
33 Joints will handle the design, manufacture and distribution of Ben Sherman’s footwear for the next four years, while the firm will develop a women’s footwear range for Christian Lacroix to distribute throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The Christian Lacroix autumn 16 range will consist of two lines; a main line, which will retail at between £250 and £500, and the CXL diffusion line, which will retail at between £100 and £250. Both work on a 2.5 mark up.
For autumn 16, retail prices for Ben Sherman footwear range from £60 to £120 with a 2.3 mark up.
Graeme Nichol, sales director for 33 Joints, said: “We are very excited to be part of the renaissance of the Ben Sherman brand. We will use the history and heritage of the brand whilst also looking forward and adding a new dimension to create the footwear line. We will offer footwear to correspond with the clothing categories Black and White and Script.”
It comes after 33 Joints received backing from Samsung C&T, the textile, trading and investments sister to the Korean electronics company, last year.
Malcolm Nathan, chairman of 33 Joints, said: “The partnership that we made with Samsung two years ago has given us the confidence and financial ability to expand our portfolio of brands. The additions of Christian Lacroix and Ben Sherman, to our already successful brands, including Original Penguin, Farah, Firetrap and Blowfish, will allow us to grow both within and outside of the UK.”
