3D bodyscanner hits New Look

Fast fashion chain New Look has this week introduced a body-scanner into its Westfield Stratford store to help customers find their perfect pair of jeans.

The device, from Bodymetrics, takes a scan of a customer in two seconds before calculating and mapping every curve and contour to produce 100 measurements and body shape analytics. This is then followed by a personal styling session by ‘Fit Stylists’ who help customers find the best jeans for their body shape.

Bodymetrics was previously only operating in luxury department stores but the scanner, which was introduced into the store earlier this week, will be in New Look’s Westfield Stratford store until October 31.

Lainey Sheridan-Young, head of fashion at Bodymetrics said: “When it comes to jeans, most people don’t realise that it is about shape not size. We all have very different body-shapes and some styles of jeans look great on some bodyshapes and not on others. What Bodymetrics allows is a fast and easy way to find jeans that suit your bodyshape.”
