Aftershock London to open 120 stores after signing deal with Al Hokair Group

Womenswear brand Aftershock London has signed a deal with Saudi Arabian franchisee company Al Hokair Group, which will see the occasionwear label open 120 stores in the next five years.

The Al Hokair Group, which operates franchises for retailers including Zara, Gap, Monsoon and Miss Selfridge, has signed a multi-territory agreement with Aftershock London.

The British brand already has one store in the UK and a handful in central Asia and eastern Europe. The first store to be opened as part of this deal will come later this year, with 40 launches planned throughout 2013.

Al Hokair will also work with Aftershock to create a collection suitable for international markets.

Aftershock London chairman Hiro Harjani said Al Hokair’s local expertise, capability and international franchise experience could help enable “rapid and sustained growth” for the brand.

Al Hokair chief executive Simon Marshall said Aftershock had “the potential to become a leading player in the Middle East, North Africa, the US along with other markets globally”.

He added: ”Aftershock London will be a terrific enhancement to our portfolio of international brands and has the potential to become one of the leading boutique fashion brands worldwide.”
