Alexander McQueen has appointed former Yves Saint Laurent director Emmanuel Gintzburger appointed as its new chief executive.
Gintzburger will join the brand on May 9 and report to Grita Loebsack, chief executive of luxury, couture and leather goods and emerging brands at parent company Kering.
Gintzburger succeeds Jonathan Akeroyd, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests outside of the group after 12 years at the helm.
Kering said it was “grateful” to Akeroyd for his contribution to the firm. It added: ”In close collaboration with the creative and leadership team, he successfully oversaw the growth and the international expansion of the brand, making it one of the most recognised British luxury fashion brand in the world.”
